Plans have been filed with the city that seek to turn the vacant building at 2401 St. Claude, next to St. Roch market, into a restaurant space.

Arcadia Court, LLC, the entity that owns the building and whose members include St. Roch Market owners Will Donaldson and Barre Tanguis, filed a change of use permit with the city on September 11, 2015.

According to the permit, Arcadia Court, LLC is seeking to (i) change the use of the existing two-story building into a restaurant and banquet hall, and (ii) “construct a new single story addition for a restaurant as per plans.”

The building, purchased by the group in 2014, is a 3,000 square foot historic building with great visibility on St. Claude Avenue and directly adjacent to the St. Roch Market.

The group previously had submitted plans for the same space back in May, but the request was later withdrawn.

This could be another great renovation for St. Claude Avenue and an asset to the nearby St. Roch Market.
