Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business filed plans last week for the expansion of its current building and campus, and the designs look fantastic.

The new Freeman School expansion includes a 42,000 square foot addition to the two existing Freeman buildings (Goldring/Woldenberg Hall I (GWI), and Goldring/Woldenberg Hall II (GWII)) that will link the buildings to create a unified complex.  The additions include a four story addition and a six story addition.

The shape of new glass facade was designed to preserve the live oaks along McAlister Place.  Most of the major classrooms will be entirely renovated, as well as several other learning spaces.  New spaces for academic support functions like career management will be added, along with student spaces for studying, meeting, and collaboration.

Plans filed with the city indicate a construction value of approximately $22,000,000.

The design and planning team includes Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and Manning Architects as the planning consultants and architects of record, Harmon Engineering, GVA Engineering, and Spackman Mossop and Michaels as the landscape architect.

Construction is scheduled to being in Q2 2015. Renderings and plans below.
