Last month, we found new designs for a renovated store at 3823 Magazine Street.  The renderings on the architects website showed a J Crew coming to town.

Well, Canal Street Beat did a little more digging and found out that J Crew is in fact not moving in to 3823 Magazine Street, but an upscale retailer from Baton Rouge is!

LD Linens & Décor will lease the 3,450 square foot property from the property owner, Todd Beiver.  Lisa Gilly, the owner of LD Linens & Décor, tells Canal Street Beat that she will be open as soon as her renovations finish up.

“LD Linens & Décor is a lifestyle store.    We offer local art, woodwork, and goods from Louisiana folks.    We have our own line of linens “Josephine” that we will be carrying in the store.  “Josephine” is a line of ready made bedding, baby bedding, designer length shower curtains, and drapes.  The other linen lines we will carry in NOLA are Bella Notte Linens, Pine Cone Hill, Dash & Albert Rugs, and Pom Pom. We will be carrying Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® and offering classes in this location.   We will have some furniture on the floor as well as jewelry, accessories, and gifts.  We will be hiring 2-5 full & part time employees for this location,” Gilly told Canal Street Beat.

“I love the city of New Orleans and have always thought it would be my second location.  We expanded in Baton Rouge from 1600 sq feet to 3500 sq feet last October and felt we were ready for our next location this Fall.  My store in Baton Rouge is a very wide open warehouse type of space.  I have been looking at properties on Magazine for about 4 months.  When we found 3823 Magazine and looked at the floor plan we knew it was the best “space” for the LD Linens & Décor image/atmosphere,” said Gilly.

Scott Graf from Caldwell Banker brokered the transaction.
