Mixed Use Renovation Planned for 217- 225 Chartres Street

Plans were submitted to the city this week for the renovation of two buildings at 217 and 225 Chartres Street. Many people will recognize these buildings as the former French Quarter home of Hurwitz Mintz.

Description of the renovation according to the permits filed with the city:

 

“Renovation of existing, vacant, 5 and 3 story masonry and heavy timber building. New residential use on the 2nd-5th floors. Retail and residential amenities on the 1st floor. Addition of two lightwells within existing structure and one story expansion / addition to the roof of the 3 story building.”
