Our friends at Mid-City Messenger are reporting that Ochsner Health is building a new free standing emergency room on Canal Street.

The  location is Oschner’s first foray in to Mid-City, and would be built at the corner of Canal Street and South Carrollton Avenue.  The site currently houses a furniture store called “Sofas and Chairs” and has the address 4116 Canal Street.

A new construction application has been filed with the city for a proposed Ochsner Health “free standing” emergency room on Canal Street.

The 32,000 square foot site is owned by the New Orleans Firefighter’s Federal Credit Union and is currently listed for sale for $3,200,000, or $100 per square foot, or Lacdb.com

William Roger Clark with Real Estate, LLC is the listing agent.
