A New York real estate investment firm, the Garrison Investment Group, bought the O’Keefe Plaza Hotel in the Central Business District for $10.75 million this month.
The six story, 129-room hotel is located at 334 O’Keefe Ave.
The seller was Laxmi Hotel, LLC, which was controlled by the Chauhan and Kansagra families.
Orleans Civil Court records show that Laxmi owed more than $108,000 in taxes, interest and other costs to the city on the property.
Garrison has $3.2 billion under management, including 22 hotels in 11 states, 26 industrial properties, 15 office buildings and a retail portfolio with 40 properties in 15 states. It owns Louisiana Boardwalk, an outlet mall in Shreveport.
