Fresenius Medical Care North America, a Massachusetts-based company, plans to build a 7,700-square-foot medical facility at 957 Behrman Highway.    The site is currently a vacant tract of land in Terrytown, on the West Bank.

Fresenius has filed for a $1 million permit for construction of the new medical center.  According to Jefferson parish conveyance records, Fresenius purchased the property for $538,500 from BFE Properties LLC, which lists Nicholas J. Beninate Jr., Mary Beninate Landry and Katherine Grace Beninate Trauth as its officers.

The company operates 10 facilities in metro New Orleans, including at Ochsner’s Jefferson campus, Tulane Hospital, LSU Interim Hospital, West Jefferson Medical Center and in Marrero, the City Business report said.

Embree Construction Group of Georgetown, Texas is listed as the contractor for the project.
