Red Lion Hotel Corp. is now the marketer and manager (and maybe owner?) of the 130 room Maison St. Charles hotel at 1319 St. Charles Ave. in the Lower Garden District.
The property has been on the market for years, at least going back to 2012, and was formerly managed by New Orleans-based Expotel Hospitality.
Red Lion will rebrand the property into Hotel RL, which will have suites, a pool, fitness center, restaurant and over 2,000 square feet of meeting space.
“Hotel RL offers spaces for business and leisure travelers to immerse themselves into local culture while maintaining their connection to the world. This property will fit in perfectly in New Orleans and is a tremendous addition to the Hotel RL family,” said Paul Sacco, Chief Development Officer, in a news release.
The hotel sits on 2.45 acres of prime property on St. Charles Avenue. No word on whether the property actually sold, but CSB sources say it was recently marketed for $22 million, or $169,000/key.
Hello,
I currently work at this property. We are very excited about Red Lion, and becoming a Hotel RL. Our owners have not changed but we will be managed by Red Lion. Our hotel is in such a prime location, with a great history. It’s classic New Orleans. We are highly anticipating the future of our beautiful property!
