The City of New Orleans has finally filed its plans for the new NOPD Criminal Evidence and Processing Facility to be located at 2761 Gravier Street.

The City’s original crime lab was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina, and now looks like its finally getting ready to build.  The city filed its plan with the City Planning Commission for design review.

Plans call for the construction of a new, five story building totaling over 40,000 square feet.

The project will cost roughly $19 million, with most of the funding coming from FEMA.

CDM Architects, Inc. is the architect of record.
