GE subsidiary LM Wind Power announced it will be opening a wind turbine testing center at NASA’s Michoud complex in New Orleans East.
The project will involve the conversion of an existing building on the Michoud campus into the research and testing facility. The project will bring 100 new jobs to the site.
GE Renewable Energy, the parent company that owns LM Wind Power, has had an office at Michoud for the last three years after purchasing Blade Dynamics, a manufacturer of blades for wind energy turbines. LM currently employs 50 people at the site.
