Ochsner Health System announced earlier this month their plan to open a new, 185,000-square-foot “super clinic” in the vacant Sears building at the Clearview Center in Metairie. The new super clinic is part of the $100 million Clearview redevelopment by the Richards family.

The clinic will be like a mini hospital, and will include neurology and brain care, behavioral health, medi-spa, pain care, behavioral health, chemotherapy and other outpatient services. The clinic will start with 40 physicians, but will grow to 70, with 400 total employees.

The total development cost for the new facility is just under $100 million, which is in addition to the $100 million redevelopment of the rest of the mall site.

The site is now being dubbed the Clearview City Center, which is 35-acre site that will offer 14,000 square feet of green space for outdoor events and concerts, more than 260 apartments, open-air restaurants with rooftop access and around 100,000 square feet of commercial office space for lease. The Richards family, long time owners of the mall and recent purchaser of the Sears site, broke ground on the major redevelopment earlier this year.
