Chipotle Mexican Grill has plans to open a new restaurant on Magazine Street in the Garden District, according to our friends at Uptown Messenger.
The restaurant chain is planning a new location at 2801 Magazine Street, a shopping center that currently houses a Smoothie King, Starbucks, Floor & Decor, among others. The storefront was most recently a RadioShack.
Chipotle has proposed that it be classified as a “standard restaurant”, which would allow it to open as of right in that center without a conditional use, and also allow it to serve alcohol.
The property is owned by a company controlled by Danielle Kavanagh.
