New Orleans-based Corporate Realty Inc. has been chosen to lease the new Water Campus and the Bon Carré Business Center in Baton Rouge.
Commercial Properties Realty Trust announced last week that it had selected Corporate Realty to represent its leasing needs. Commercial Properties is the real estate arm of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and is developing and managing the Water Campus between downtown and LSU.
The Water Campus will initially include three buildings: the headquarters for both the Water Institute of the Gulf and the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority and the River Modeling Center.
The area is programmed to house scientific, engineering, construction and governmental agencies to create a vibrant experiential environment designed for developing process-based predictive models that link physical and ecological processes. When fully built out, this urban, riverside campus anticipates well over 2,000 occupants and inspire international collaboration with other global water campuses and universities.
Mike Siegel, Corporate Realty’s President, said the three buildings are just the beginning. The Water Campus has a much bigger scope for 10 to 15 buildings, with a million square feet of office and research space. The vision is to include enough space for engineering and construction firms, governmental agencies, and any public or private groups having something to do with coastal erosion or water conservation.
The organization also manages the Bon Carré Business Center, which is home to tenants such as Cox Communications and Venyu, a data center operator.
Since November, the 850,000-square-foot center has been 90 percent occupied.
Siegel and Leasing Agent Randy White will head the leasing/marketing team for Commercial Properties Realty Trust.
Only thing missing is rail connecting these two vibrant cities but Jindal is too busy trying to look presidential to be a visionary
