Plans were filed with the City this week for a new mixed use structure at 1581 Magazine Street. The building will have three levels: Parking and retail on the bottom floor, with apartment on floors 2-3. Studio WTA are the architects on the project. Currently the parcel is just vacant land, so this project will help to increase pedestrian activity in this section of Magazine Street.

I for one am extremely happy to see all of the new development taking place in New Orleans. It shows the city has a healthy economy. I think all of the New Orleans haters out there need to take a drive around Uptown, the Warehouse District, the CBD, the Bywater and Midcity to see what is going on.
My only complaint about this project is that the planned building is rather blah.
For Mr. Poly, I would suggest googling the address. The area where this takes place could either be called the Lower Garden District or the Irish Channel.
