The 8th annual Economic and Real Estate Forecast Symposium will take place in October and will cover real estate trends and the city’s economic outlook. The seminars and panels will take place at Roussel Hall on Loyola University’s campus, located at 6363 St. Charles Ave, from 12:30-5 p.m. on Oct. 9.
The theme for this year is “New Orleans as an Innovation Economy: Making the Connections.”

Paul Richard with the commercial investment division at Latter & Blum said various sectors within the local economy have been affected by innovation in technology and the digital age.
Speakers include Jon Atkinson, CEO, The Idea Village, Wade Ragas, Ph.D., MAI, Real Property Associates, Bill Bliss, Managing Broker, Lakeview LATTER & BLUM, INC/REALTORS®, Michael Sawaya, President and General Manager, New Orleans Convention Center, Caitlin Cain, CEO, World Trade Center, Dr. Gene D’Amour, Chairman, Bio District Board of Directors, Kurt Weigle, President & CEO, Downtown Development District, and Guy Williams, President, Gulf Coast Bank.
Topics covered will New Orleans’ startup ecosystem, the New Orleans real estate market, positioning the Convention Center for 21st century tourism, the, and financing.
Past years have examined the political environment and features the city’s movers and shakers. There is usually about 400 people in attendance.
