Plans to Convert Elmwood Into a Town Center Include New 250 Apartment Mixed-Use Project

Lauricella Land Co., the owner of Elmwood Center and developer of much of Elmwood, has announced future plans to convert the strip mall into a town center in the coming years, according to Nola.com.

In particular, Lauricella has released renderings for a new, five story building consisting of 85,000 square feet of retail on the first floor with 4 floors of apartments, along with a new parking garage.  Lauricella told nola.com that they envision converting what is currently a massive strip shopping center into moew of a town center, complete with walking paths, bike lanes, and more greenscaping, all within a New Urbanisn backdrop.

Lauricella also announced new tenants at the nearly 100 acre development, including a new Express Factory Outlet, plus-size store Torrid, a Banana Republic Factory Store, and restaurant Boulevard American Bistro.
