Raising Cane'sRaising Cane’s, the Baton-Rouge based restaurant chain, will open its first uptown New Orleans location on Thursday with a grand opening at its store on South Carrollton Avenue.

The Carrollton location is the former site of a KFC restaurant that Raising Cane’s took over earlier this year. The 2,426 square foot restaurant sits on a 15,000 square foot lot and will provide 13 off street parking spaces.

The following week, Raising Cane’s will open its first St. Charles Avenue store.

The store at 3235 South Carrollton Avenue will hold a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m., followed by the opening at 10 a.m. Details in the complete press release below:

With the success of its new Riverwalk Marketplace location, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is gearing up to spread the ONE LOVE with the addition of two more Orleans Parish restaurants.

The expansion of Louisiana’s largest restaurant company began when the Riverwalk location opened in May.  Four more locations are set to open in Orleans Parish over the next six months. The chicken finger takeover will continue on Thursday, July 17, when the city’s next Cane’s opens at 3235 S. Carrollton Ave. Another grand opening is on tap for Thursday, July 24, at 1406 St. Charles Ave.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies with the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce and other local dignitaries will take place on both days at 9:30 a.m., with doors opening at 10 a.m. First-time visitors will be treated to traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the locations in unique Cane’s fashion, compliments of their newly hired crewmembers.

The first 100 customers dining at each location will receive a free commemorative Cane’s T-shirt and a voucher for a free Box Combo that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit. Customers are also invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one lucky person from each restaurant will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.

When Todd Graves first introduced his addictive chicken fingers to the people of Louisiana, the New Orleans native knew there would be nothing quite as special as growing the business in his own back yard.

“We opened our first Greater New Orleans restaurant more than 10 years ago,” Graves said. “Since that time, we have continued to actively look for the right locations to expand our local presence. Both S. Carrollton and St. Charles are great additions to our ongoing expansion in the area. We are very excited about these new restaurants.”

Raising Cane’s is active in every market the company serves, with support totaling more than $2.5 million in Louisiana, including $500,000 in New Orleans. Cane’s will also hire more than 350 local crewmembers over the next six months, including several managing partners to operate New Orleans’ new flock of restaurants. Last week, S. Carrollton General Manager Tommy Papale and his crewmembers reinforced Cane’s commitment to community by beautifying the grounds at nearby Hollygrove Community Garden. St. Charles General Manager Ginny Bowen and her crewmembers are scheduled to help St. Michael’s Special School clean up from the summer fun on Friday, July 18, to ready it for the first day of school.

“The secret behind our success is really no secret at all,” said Derrick Dunne, area director for the New Orleans and Greater New Orleans area. “It’s all about craveable food, fast and friendly customer service and an authentic commitment to the local community. We couldn’t be more happy to serve the great people of New Orleans with our newest restaurants!”

The Carrollton and St. Charles locations mark the 18th and 19th restaurants in Greater New Orleans, and the 58th and 59th in the state of Louisiana, respectively. The Carrollton location will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p. m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight. The St. Charles location will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.to 1 a.m.
