There’s been a lot of retail activity this year, from West Elm, LD Linen’s and Decor, and Maysville on Magazine Street; to new South Market District tenants like Blaze Pizza and Magasin.
And now we’ve got a few more for you:
James Beard Award winner Willie Mae’s Scotch House is set to open a new location in Uptown New Orleans, reports nola.com.
This week, the new Willie Mae’s Grocery and Deli opens at the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Cherokee Street. The new restaurant will feature the same great fried chicken, but also stay open for dinner, which the original Treme location does not do.
The building is the former spot of Fat Hen Grocery.
Additionally, a Barre3 fitness studio will open in the South Market District, developer Domain Companies announced last week.
Barre3 New Orleans, which has its original location on Magazine Street, offers fitness classes combining yoga, Pilates and ballet. Their second location will open at The Paramount, the first apartment-retail building in South Market nearing completion at 611 O’Keefe Ave.
“By opening our second barre3 New Orleans location at The Paramount, we are supporting the epicenter of the city,” said Kendall Carriere, barre3 New Orleans owner, in a news release. “I am helping in my small way to share wellness in the heart of New Orleans.”
