New Orleans’ first public car-sharing service will begin downtown this fall as part of the South Market District residential and retail development.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s car share service, Enterprise CarShare, will provide online access to a fleet of shared vehicles for public use 24-hours-a-day. The car sharing service will open as part of The Park, a $21.3 million parking and retail development under construction at the corner of Girod Street and O’Keefe Avenue. It is part of the $200 million South Market District, which will ultimately occupy a five-block area of downtown. The first phase of the development is set to open in October.
The South Market District will also include a bike-sharing program and electric car charging stations.
