The developers of “The Fallen Saint” immersive-theater project at 1152 Magazine Street secured clearance from the Board of Zoning Adjustments last week, allowing it to move forward for yet another vote.

The developers, Seth and Rosa Dunlop, won unanimous approval from the City Council in October, only to have it stalled by a challenge from a few select detractors.

The Fallen Saint includes a 13,000 square foot venue with several small stages for intimate experiences plus a 40 seat cafe.  The site is an abandoned former laundry warehouse on Magazine Street near the Ponchartrain Expressway.

From what we hear, there is widespread support from the neighborhood for the new concept and it’s forward progress is being held up by one or two neighbors with the money to continue delaying the approval through legal challenges.
