A restaurateur plans to open a new World of Beer restaurant at 300 Julia Street, a warehouse district building which houses a Courtyard Marriott.
On June 26, Jeff Woeste filed a building permit with the city of New Orleans to renovate Unit 360 at 300 Julia Street. Plans call for the “Tenant fit-out of existing unoccupied shell for a new A-2 World of Beer restaurant. Work includes tenant fit-out of architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical construction.”
World of Beer is a chain of taverns with 55 locations in 16 states. Each World of Beer sells more than 500 beers including almost 50 on tap and offers burgers, wings, soups, sandwiches, flatbreads and main course entrees such as salmon and steak.
300 Julia Street primarily houses a 193-key Courtyard Marriott, which will remain in operation. The new restaurant takes up an unoccupied shell.
