The NFL-affiliated assisted living center that was announced in 2015 will officially open at the end of March.
The facility at 3801 Loyola Dr. in Kenner, Inspired Living at Kenner, will hold its grand opening March 28.
This is just one of over 30 of these types of facilities planned to be built in markets that house NFL teams. Florida-based Developer Validus Senior Living has a partnership with the NFL Alumni Association to build these center around the country, and has arranged over $1 billion in financing from Piper Jaffray for development.
The project cost was $37 million, and rents start at $4,325 per month.
The long-term care facilities specialize in memory loss, can not only cater to ex-NFL players, but the entire community.
Developer Validus Senior Living built the site to be licensed for up to 160 residents, and it sits on 10 wooded acres next to Ocshner. Features include a pond, fenced dog park, putting greens, swimming pool and a Tiki bar. 52 residents have signed up, none of which are former NFL players.
