$66M Higgins Hotel Opens at National WWII Museum

The National WWII Museum has opened the 230-key Higgins Hotel New Orleans, it’s $66 million hotel on the New Orleans campus. The hotel is part of the upper-upscale Curio Collection by Hilton. The National WWII Museum sits on six acres in downtown New Orleans.

Designed by architectural firm Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates, the Art Deco-style building has four dining outlets, a rooftop bar and a state-of-the-art conference center facility totaling 18,000 square feet spanning the second floor. Kay Lang + Associates handled interior design. Hostmark Hospitality Group is managing the hotel.

The WWII Museum has been on a tear lately, with recent additions including a monstrous parking garage next to the hotel site, the construction of the $10 million Canopy of Peace, the construction of two new buildings on Magazine Street, and construction of the $3 million pedestrian bridge over St. Joseph Street.
