The University of New Orleans Research and Technology Foundation is leasing an entire 104,000 square foot building in their Technology Park to Whitney Bank, according to a report from our friends at Curbed.
Whitney has signed on for at least a decade to take over all five floors in Information Technology Center #4.
More than 300 Whitney employees will work in the building. Those employees will focus on corporate services like information technology, telecommunications management, distributed systems applications, accounting and training.
The Technology Center has several buildings, and houses a number of private companies and public and non-profit organizations, including the Advanced Technology Center, the Center for Energy Resources Management (CERM), a $ 20 million University-owned research facility, the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Atlantic, and the Lindy C. Boggs International Conference Center.
The 104,000 square foot lease is one of the largest leases in New Orleans to close over the past 12 months, second only to the 134,000 square foot lease at 1250 Poydras for the new Hyatt House hotel according to our records.
