City To Build New Public Works Building in Tulane Avenue Corridor

by CSB Staff • February 1, 2016 • News • Comments (1) • 9208

The Department of Public Works has filed plans with the city to build a new building on South Clark Street, near the corner of Tulane Avenue and South Jefferson Davis Parkway.

According to plans filed with the city, the new building will contain office space for DPW employees, a training facility, and service bays for the maintenance of DPW vehicles.  The site is currently owned by the City, and sits directly behind the Goodwill building on Tulane Avenue.

With the $11 million street scape program underway that will add bike lanes, an abandoned building being demolished to make way for new retail, and a new credit union office building going up, the Tulane Avenue revival is starting to take shape.

Verges Rome Architects is the architect of record.
