LCMC Health, the nonprofit health care system that manages several hospitals in the New Orleans area including Touro Infirmary and Children’s Hospital, has released plans to build a network of urgent care clinics across the city.
LCMC Health partnered with Premier Health, a Baton Rouge-based urgent care developer. The combo announced a partnership to build the seven facilities around this city. The new sites will be a mix of new construction and acquisitions and repositioning of existing urgent care facilities.
LCMC Health already operates Children’s Hospital, New Orleans East Hospital, Touro Infirmary, University Medical Center and West Jefferson Medical Center.
The new clinics will offer urgent care services to children and adults, including walk-ins, on-site lab work, x-rays, physicals and immunizations, and will treat a large variety of illnesses and conditions. They will be accredited by the Urgent Care Association of America.
“The need we’ve witness in the healthcare industry is that consumers have more choice than ever before,” LCMC Health said in a statement. “Therefore, consumers want healthcare points of access that are convenient, available without appointments and with short wait times, which these urgent care facilities will be able to provide.”
