Barry Spizer, the founder of SRSA Commercial Real Estate, has been awarded with National Association of Realtors National Award for 2013.
Each year, the National Association of Realtors honors accomplished Realtors in commercial real estate by recognizing their achievements. Barry was the sole recipient of the award for the State of Louisiana.
Spizer has received numerous awards and has been honored twice by the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors with the award for the highest volume of commercial sales and leases in the city. Some of his largest commercial real estate transactions include the sale of the Entergy/1250 Poydras buildings ($76 million), the Energy Center building ($60.9 million), the Freeport McMoran building ($33 million), the Causeway Plaza office complex ($27.5 million) and the sale of the First Industrial Louisiana portfolio ($63.5 million).
Spizer is also responsible for developing Northpark Business Park in Covington, LA, home to the Louisiana headquarters for Chevron, LOOP, Pool Corp. and Smoothie King. He has developed buildings for Allstate Insurance, Federal Express, Verizon Wireless and re-development of a 140,000 sq. ft. shopping center in Slidell, LA. Additionally, he is a partner/developer of five Marriott Courtyard and Residence Inn properties in suburban New Orleans.
