Conseco’s Markets plans to open its fifth grocery location at 1133 S. Carrollton Ave. in a former K&B drugstore building.
In a letter sent to nearby neighbors, owner Sinesio Canseco said that the new location will be a full service grocery store with prepared foods for pick up.
Canseco needs a conditional for to sell liquor at the story, and is holding a meeting on Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. in St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, at 8012 Oak St.
The property is owned by Sydney Besthoff III, the grandson of the K&B drugstore founder. The 7,300 square feet building has 17 parking spaces. According to a listing, the owner is asking $30 per square foot triple net.
