The design for the anchor garage for the residents and guests of the South Market District Development has been finalized – and it looks great. It’s a new, refreshing design for New Orleans parking structures.
The South Market District is a $200 million mixed-use development off the Loyola Avenue streetcar line. It will eventually encompass 600 apartments, 170,000 square feet of retail space consuming four blocks, a parking garage, and a hotel.
The first phase is the Paramount at South Market, a five-story apartment, restaurant and retail building, is slated to be finished late next year.
The $48.4 million Paramount will occupy a full block bordered by Girod, Rampart, Lafayette and O’Keefe streets with 209 apartments and 22,000 square feet of retail space, including sidewalk cafes and units that would allow small business owners to live above their shops.
