Here is a look at the top commercial leasing deals around the metro area during the first quarter of 2014.
Robin Shannon at CityBusiness put together a “Commercial Leasing Ledger“, which outlines some of the top deals during the first quarter.
We should mention that it looks like most of these are self-reported submissions, so there are likely dozens of deals out there that may be larger than these deals.
Nonetheless, here are the top leases as *reported* by CityBusiness in 2014:
Top Office Space Leases:
Agents Matt Taylor and Jack Gordon with Property One closed the biggest reported deal of the year so far, a 109,668 square foot lease with the City of New Orleans at Orleans Tower (formerly the Amoco Building), 1340 Poydras Street. While a deal with the City of New Orleans likely didn’t come anywhere close to the current asking price is $14.50 per foot, anything remotely close could have netted the owners millions of dollars in revenue per year. The 378,895-square-foot office building was acquired last summer for a reported $14.5 million.
Other top deals:
Merritt Lane of Latter and Blum brokered 17,203 square foot lease for Krebs, Farley and Rilleteri at 400 Poydras Tower.
Bruce Sossaman of Corporate Realty brokered a 14,648 square foot lease for EnVen Energy Ventures at Two Lakeway, located at 3850 N. Causeway Blvd.
Brian Rourke of Latter and Blum brokered a 14,334 square foot lease for Doyle Land Services at 400 Lafayette Building, located at 400 Lafayette Street.
Top Retail/Commercial Leases:
Retail power broker Larry Rabin of Corporate Realty earned the title of top retail lease in the first quarter, closing a 25,000 square foot lease with TJ Maxx lease at the Algiers Plaza shopping center. Algiers Plaza is the former Village Aurora shopping center and is in the midst of undergoing a $20 million renovation and expansion.
Other top deals:
Hayden Wren of Corporate Realty brokered a 15,625 square foot lease for 5-Minute Oil Change at 2401 Carrollton Avenue.
Matthew Nichols of Latter and Blum brokered a 9,000 square foot lease for Southern Costume at 951 Lafayette Street.
Keith Adler of Corporate Realty brokered a 7,550 square foot lease for the Story Teller Effects Group at 333 River Road.
