Diamond B Construction recently closed on property at 710 River Road on the Mississippi River in Westwego for $2.5 million. The land will eventually house the company’s first New Orleans production facility. The facility will initially employ 12 people, but could ramp up to fifty if the market picks up.
The site, formerly operated by Kass Bros. Inc. contractors, is already zoned industrial. The 9-acre parcel of land is located on the Mississippi River, with gate and access road over the levee. It includes approximately 2,000′ of river frontage.
Diamond B has seven other locations throughout the state that prepare asphalt products, including manufacturing plants in Alexandria, Amite, Bogalusa, Leesville, Mermentau, Monroe and New Iberia.
Work on the site is currently in the engineering stage and construction is expected to be complete this summer.
