Federal Express will be building a brand new 175,000 square-foot distribution center on 15 acres at the Northpoint Business Park near Covington, reports nola.com.
The development will bring 800 new jobs to St. Tammany Paris. Construction is expected to take 15 months to complete, which include significant road improvements for access.
The site in the Northpointe Business Park, just north of the Louisiana 1077/Bootlegger Road intersection, is currently being cleared for the project.
Northpoint Business Park is owned by Chris Lope. The specific site where the FedEx facility will be located is owned by Jones Development Co. of Kansas City, Missouri.
Asking rents or industrial space at the park currently range from $5-6 per square foot, according to multiple listings on Loopnet and LACDB.
