The properties include the Taylor Building at 944 St. Charles Ave., the former Circle Bar at 1032 St. Charles Ave., and a vacant lot at Harmony Circle and Andrew Higgins Boulevard.
The purchases were made from Phyllis Taylor and mark a notable expansion in Benson’s portfolio, although the sale prices have not been disclosed. The Taylor Building, the largest of the three, spans approximately 26,000 square feet. The other properties are historic structures, and the vacant lot offers further development potential.
No redevelopment plans have been announced yet, leaving future possibilities for adaptive reuse or mixed-use projects open. These acquisitions could significantly impact downtown investment and retail dynamics around Harmony Circle, a historically significant area in the Central Business District.
