The Starwood branded Aloft Hotel at 225 Baronne in the CBD has finally opened.
Developer HRI Properties spent $100 million on the redevelopment of an old building, turning the former office building into a mixed-use complex that features the Aloft Hotel.
Located at 225 Baronne Street, the Aloft New Orleans Downtown has 188 keys and includes an outdoor Splash pool, 24-hour fitness center and 2,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, and free Wi-Fi.
The development also has 356-space garage on the first 17 floors of the 550,000-square-foot former office building.
Floors 18 through 30 are being converted into 192 residential apartments, with a unit mix that includes 124 one-bedroom apartments, 63 two-bedroom units and five rooftop penthouses with private balconies.
225 Baronne was built in 1964 by Chicago developer John J. Mack and served as local headquarters for Boeing.
