Kenner Mayor Mike Yenni‘s administration last week issued a request for proposals to develop Kenner’s Laketown on 15¾ acres along Lake Pontchartrain.

The development site is owned by the state but leased by Kenner, and sits on the lakeside of the levee from the Pontchartrain Center, adjacent to the Treasure Chest Casino, Pontchartrain Center, Coconut Beach Volleyball facilities and more.   The city is offering a 30 year lease to the developer.

The RFP will seek competitive proposals from qualified proposers who are interested in developing a mixed-use, water-oriented commercial center in Laketown that could possibly include: restaurants, clubs, shops, kiosks, souvenirs, boating, apparel, gaming, hotels, and residential development.

The property is owned by the State of Louisiana and the successful proposer will sign a lease with the State Land Office for the Fair Market value of the property.

A copy of this RFP can be accessed via the City of Kenner’s website, click here:

Proposals are due May 8.
