Lynnwood Place Residential Assisted Living has launched a new 12-bed facility at 65518 Loretta Drive in Mandeville. The home, opened in late September, adds to the private elder care capabilities in St. Tammany Parish, addressing the area’s growing senior population.

Founded by Lenny and Rachel Ledet, the facility was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 24. The opening marks a significant private investment in residential senior care on the Northshore, a region seeing rising demand for personalized, higher-acuity care options.

The facility offers 24-hour care with a focus on individualized service for its 12 residents. It includes private bedrooms, a shared therapy garden, and a resident-to-caregiver ratio of 6:1. Residents benefit from a monitoring system using wearable safety watches, illustrating a modern approach to elder care.

Local officials, including Councilman Larry Rolling, attended the opening ceremony. This project underscores the importance of private development in expanding senior care capacity, providing a useful model for small-scale healthcare developers and investors.

The Mandeville facility highlights a trend toward smaller, more personalized assisted-living models, which may offer different economic and regulatory profiles than larger facilities. The development of Lynnwood Place serves as a case study in addressing local demographic pressures through targeted real estate investment.
