Saronic Technologies has opened a nearly 15,000-square-foot engineering hub at Place St. Charles in downtown New Orleans. This expansion is set to support the company’s Louisiana shipbuilding operations as part of its growing investment in the region.

This move brings a new tenant type to the commercial office market in the Central Business District, with Saronic linking its recruitment efforts to the local talent pool. The new hub in New Orleans will focus on design, hardware engineering, naval architecture, and system testing for Saronic’s autonomous vessel program.

Saronic plans to hire over 350 skilled workers across Louisiana this year, enhancing its workforce to meet regional project demands. This further connects downtown office spaces to Saronic’s significant industrial investment, including a multi-million-dollar modernization of its shipyard in Franklin.

The establishment of this engineering hub underscores the demand for central-city office connectivity from tech and defense manufacturers. As leasing dynamics shift, Saronic’s move signals an increased appetite for tech-focused office spaces in traditionally non-industrial areas.

While specific details regarding the lease arrangements at Place St. Charles have yet to be disclosed, this development certainly marks a noteworthy addition to New Orleans’ commercial real estate landscape. Saronic’s presence is expected to boost local economic activity and creates momentum for further regional investment.
