Local New Orleans running store Souther Runner closed down their store at 6112 Magazine Street in September 2015 and reopened at 8123 Oak Street the following month.
Investment firm ERG Enterprises purchased the building last year, and recently sold it to Cindy’s Nail and Spa.
ERG renovated the roughly 2,800 square foot warehouse-style building into an open and modern storefront. A representative of ERG said Cindy’s Nail and Spa plans further renovations.
“We were offered a deal that satisfied our investment expectations,” ERG Enterprises COO Barrett Cooper told Canal Street Beat. ERG had the property listed for lease with Ben Jacobson and Casey Burka of Corporate Realty for $26 per square foot triple net.
The building style is reminiscent of the 1940s, but the steel in the interior of the building could date back as far as the world cotton centennial of 1884, according to architect S. Olson LLC.
ERG has invested heavily in New Orleans real estate and business efforts over the last several years. Recent projects by ERG include the Orpheum Theater, the Pythian building, and the Pontchartrain Hotel. The firm also has multiple holdings across the United States and abroad.
