The Louisiana chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) is having another great conference tomorrow on financing smart growth.

The sessions will focus on the growing trend in American real estate of walkable, mixed -use communities with green infrastructure and multi-modal transportation options.   The event will provide a comprehensive overview of different funding sources and finance mechanisms for these types of developments.

The panel is made up of John Renne (UNO), JP Morrell, (State Senator), Jeff Thomas, (Thomas Strategies), Reid Falconer, St. (Tammany Parish), and Leigh Ferguson, (Downtown Development District).  In addition to a general discussion of financing, the speakers will identify the opportunities and challenges to getting these developments off the ground specifically in the New Orleans area.

The seminar kicks off Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Regional Planning Commission on Veterans Blvd. You can find out more about the event and register here.
