The old Maison Blanche annex is being redeveloped into a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom market rate apartments with an average size of 1,300 square feet. The building is five stories and will feature 87 market rate units. The ground floor will feature an art gallery, parking, and a leasing office.
The developer is French Quarter Apartments Limited Partnership is composed of California-based companies SunAmerica Affordable Housing and DIL/SAHP Corp. Both companies are subsidiaries of AIG Global Real Estate of New York.
As you can see from the pictures below, the new courtyard at the project is going to be a beautiful addition. The project, dubbed The French Quarter Residences, will also feature a large parking garage. A new floor was added between the original first and second floors to make room for more parking.
The McDonnel Group is the contractor, and John C. Williams Architects is the architect.
The building, which sits next to the Ritz Hotel, was built in the late 1920s and was designed by New Orleans architect Emile Weil.
