Driving range, restaurant, and entertainment complex TopGolf has plans to build a new facility in New Orleans at the site of the old Times-Picayune building.

The Dallas-based company sent a letter to neighboring property owners announcing its plans.  TopGolf had been targeting the New Orleans-area for years, and had really wanted to be in Orleans Parish.  They spoke with many other groups, including groups in Jefferson Parish near the Saints Practice Facility.

The former Times-Picayune building at 3800 Howard Avenue was purchased last year for $3.8 million by businessmen Joe Jaeger of MCC Real Estate, “Mr. Mardi Gras” Barry Kern, real estate developer Arnold Kirshman, and businessman Michael White.  The group recently received a zoning change at the site that would allow for the TopGolf use.

The TopGolf project would bring 400+ jobs to New Orleans.  TopGolf has 31 locations around the world.
