Developers of the proposed 5 story, 96 room Moxy hotel finally got their approval from the New Orleans City Council Thursday (March 3).

Husband and wife Barry and Lorraine Dinvaut, along with developer Lenny Wormser, have been working for over two years to get the concept approved for the site at 744 St. Charles Avenue.  They received HDLC approval in January after overcoming neighborhood opposition to height and massing of the upper floors.  The developers has even originally proposed an eight-story building with a hotel, luxury condos, and retail/restaurant (Check out the plans).

Moxy is a Marriott brand aimed at affordable options for millennial travelers.

The Developer’s architect is Campo Architects and their attorney is Justin Schmidt of Adams and Reese.

The Dinvauts bought the building in June 2013 for $2 million.
