The Super Discount Gas station at the corner of Toledano and South Claiborne Avenue has been approved to demolish the convenience store and rebuild a new building with more retail, reports our friends at the Uptown Messenger.
The new proposed structure will feature two retail bays, one for a restaurant and another for a car mechanics shops.
Uptown Messenger reports that the plan drew no opposition from the public.
The gas station is near the newly opened Magnolia Marketplace, a 98,000 square foot shopping center developed by Stirling Properties.
The commission voted 7-0 in favor of the project, sending it to City Council for final approval.
