The massive retail complex in Slidell known as Fremaux Town Center is adding a new hotel to the complex.
Developers Stirling Properties and CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. announced in a press release that they had sold a 1.87 acre tract of land to an unnamed developer to build a 53,931-square-foot Springhill Suites by Marriott hotel. The hotel will be constructed south of the shopping center on the service road to I-10. Construction will begin soon, and a new road, called Ruth Garrett Way, is being built.
Several new tenants also joined the shopping center. A new building suite is being constructed adjacent to Red Robin that will house the three additional tenants. Smoothie King will occupy 1,000 square feet, including a drive-thru, Pacific Dental Services will occupy 3,005 square feet, and Chipotle Mexican Grill will occupy 2,225 square feet. All three tenants are expected to open in the first quarter of 2017.
The developers announced in June that they had just completed a $70 million refinance on the project, and that the center is currently 95% leased.
