After selling to a new owner last year for $20 million, the former Hotel 504 is now being rebranded as a B Hotel.

According to plans filed with the city (and the hotel’s own website), real estate investment firm The InSite Group, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, purchased the property and is reflagging it to be a B Hotels & Resorts brand, which is also based in Fort Lauderdale.

The existing 15-story hotel at 1300 Canal Street is undergoing some changes, including the installation of a new roof, upgrades to the exterior facade and entry, and other updates throughout.

Most B Hotels feature cutting-edge technology, free WiFi and complimentary iPads that can be borrowed from the front desk.  No word yet on what B Hotel New Orleans will include.

In addition to New Orleans, B Hotels has properties in Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Savannah, and the Florida Keys.

Holly & Smith Architects, APAC is the architect and ID & Design International is the designer.  Check out the concept renderings below.
