Seven Three Distilling Co. has opened a new distillery at 301. N. Claiborne Avenue, reports Todd Price of nola.com.
The new distillery is housed in a 25,000 square foot building, and will feature a museum of sorts focused New Orleans, jazz and Storyville, and of course, a tasting room.
The first product is a 1,000 bottle run of vodka, called St. Roch Vodka. Next up will be Gentilly Gin, followed by Black Pearl Rum and Irish Channel Whiskey.
Sal and Eileen Bivalacqua are the entrepreneurs behind Seven Three. Erik Maxfield Morningstar was hired as the distiller. Morningstar used to work at Two James Spirits of Detroit, Michigan.
The name “Seven Three” comes from New Orleans’ 73 neighborhoods.
