Developers Brian Gibbs and Clay Cambre are planning to develop a 7,500 square foot retail development at the corner of State and Magazine according to our friends at Uptown Messenger.
The site is currently vacant, and was formerly the Shell station that was demolished last year. The developers held a meeting with the Audubon Riverside Neighborhood Association this week and explained their plans.
The building is intended to house two to three different stores. The developers insist no tenants have been signed up, although we’ve heard rumors (yes, just rumors) that a Starbucks was highly interested in the corner location. The project will also feature 18 parking spots in the rear. The developers leased the property from its owner, LavigneBaker Realty, LLC.
The project does not need any land-use changes. MetroStudio is the architect, and Michael Sherman is working with the developers as land-use counsel.
