St. Charles Avenue Luxury Condo Development Gets Revived

by CSB Staff • November 1, 2018 • Condos, Development • Comments (0) • 13133

Rendering of the new condo building proposed for 2400 St. Charles Avenue by Harry Baker Smith Architects via City of New Orleans.

In 2016, developers Phyllis and Joe Landrieu and DJ Landrieu & Company LLC planned to develop the property at 2400 St. Charles into luxury condos. It looks like those plans fell through, but a new owner has revived the plans.

New owner Michael Carbine has filed plans to build a new, four story condominium building with a total of six luxury condo units.

There are several changes from the prior plans.  The previous proposal called for a 13 unit building.  Exterior design changes include the addition of front porches at the front elevation and removal of the rear Juliet balconies.  The building will be plaster on the exterior instead of brick.

The lot is 16,300 square feet, the building will rise 56 feet high, encompass nearly 32,000 square feet, and feature 15 parking spaces.

Harry Baker Smith Architects is the architect of record.
