JEDCO has unveiled the new Churchill Innovation & Research Campus (CIRC) in Avondale’s Churchill Technology & Business Park, rebranding the expansive 480-acre site with an eye towards economic development. This strategic move highlights the area’s LED site certification and its recent REDI Sites Gold designation, which is expected to enhance its attractiveness to private investors and industrial tenants.

The launch, which occurred on October 15, introduces plans to construct a 12,500-square-foot Food & Beverage Business Incubator. Aimed for groundbreaking in early 2027, this incubator is part of JEDCO’s efforts to expand its reach by targeting private companies, including research and development, advanced manufacturing, and headquarters facilities.

Approximately 25 acres of the site are currently development-ready and LED-certified, enhancing its marketability. The latter designation signifies the site’s readiness for immediate construction, an appealing factor for site selectors involved in industrial recruitment.

The CIRC rebranding comes at a time when Jefferson Parish seeks to maximize the utility of one of the largest remaining greenfield sites in the metro area. By aligning the site with the REDI Gold criteria, JEDCO positions the CIRC as a prime location for attracting industrial and manufacturing investments.

As JEDCO continues its outreach to potential private tenants and investors, the focus will remain on leveraging the site’s certification advantages. The Food & Beverage Incubator serves not only as an immediate opportunity for business operations but also as an indicator of the parish’s commitment to fostering economic growth on the West Bank.
