Alexandria-based Red River Bank has confirmed its purchase of a former credit-union building at 2175 Gause Boulevard East in Slidell, marking plans to establish the bank’s first full-service branch in the area by Q1 2027. This strategic acquisition expands the presence of the regional lender in the New Orleans metro market.
The transaction, completed on October 22, involves converting the property into a banking center, according to details released recently. The bank’s move into Slidell is part of a broader expansion strategy, as Red River Bank continues to grow its footprint in the Greater New Orleans area following its downtown New Orleans branch opening earlier this year.
Doug Ferrer, leading the Northshore expansion, along with Red River Bank President and CEO Blake Chatelain, bring attention to how this new branch aims to serve the Slidell community and enhance local banking services. Despite the acquisition, specific terms such as purchase price remain undisclosed.
This addition on the Northshore complements Red River Bank’s existing plans and reflects confidence in the area’s commercial real estate market. The opening of a bank branch is typically a positive signal for local retail and service leasing, potentially boosting street-level engagement and economic activity.
With its projected opening set for early 2027, subject to regulatory approval, the bank’s presence speaks to the ongoing demand and vitality within Slidell’s market. Observers will be watching for more details on tenant improvements and how the bank plans to integrate its services within the community.
